Town Justice

Court is regularly scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month, beginning at 7:00pm. Other times may be available by appointment. Court is held at the Cincinnatus Town Hall, located at 2770 Lower Cincinnatus Road.

Highway Department

The Highway Department maintains 18.15 centerline miles of road, most of which are paved. The Highway Garage was built in 1988 and is home to two 10 wheeler dump trucks, a one ton dump truck, grader, badger and tractor.

During the winter months, space at the Highway Garage is used to have a county plow truck stationed there. The Town of Cincinnatus uses approximately 1000 tons of sand and 150-200 tons of salt, each winter.

The Code Enforcement program for the Town of Cincinnatus helps to ensure the health, safety, and resilience of structures.

~Swimming Pools~

It is that time of year when many people are opening their swimming pools for the season, or have considered purchasing one. Please take the time to understand the requirements for a pool, by visiting the New York State Uniform Code website. The Town of Cincinnatus, Code Enforcement Officer, is another resource for information on pools and can complete necessary inspections. Compliance with this code is crucial to the health and safety of individuals in our community.

Water Department

The Town of Cincinnatus Water Department consists of 298 water accounts, 61 fire hydrants and 3 water wells. All water bills are mailed out twice a year and are the responsibility of the property owner listed on the Cortland County Assessment Rolls. The owner is also responsible for the water line from the curb stop to the water meter, as well as any line after a meter pit.

Tax Collection

Property Tax bills are mailed in December of each year, so that they are received by January. Payments can be made January through March as explained on the tax bills.

Property Tax bills can be paid in person at the Town Hall, 2770 Cincinnatus Road at the hours listed.
