NOTICE OF TEMPORARY MORATORIUM TOWN OF CINCINNATUS BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS (BESS)
Notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Cincinnatus has adopted Local Law No. 2 of 2025 enacting a temporary moratorium on the acceptance, processing, or approval of applications related to the development or siting of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within the Town of Cincinnatus.
This moratorium will remain in effect for a period of six (6) months from the date of adoption, unless extended or rescinded by further resolution of the Town Board.
The purpose of this moratorium is to allow the Town Board sufficient time to evaluate zoning needs, safety considerations, and environmental impacts associated with BESS facilities.
Exceptions may be granted for emergency maintenance or upgrades to existing systems that are critical to public safety, but only after review by the Town Board.
